Proposals for services to assist in education, training, and support of BCA personnel who are exposed to traumatic incidents in their work. Repeated exposures to these stressors can have serious implications to the overall health and wellness of BCA personnel, including the BCA’s approx. 170 investigators in its Investigative Services Division, and 50 staff members in the Crime Scene Program and the Digital and Multimedia Evidence section. Exposures can result in a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, somatization, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and burnout. Unaddressed, these can lead to developing negative coping mechanisms.
